International Entertainment Australia’s CIRCUS QUIRKUS is a contemporary take on your favourite, traditional circuses of ages past. *Circus Quirkus is held annually in the Grand Ballroom of SOPO (formerly Southport RSL Club). Over the many years we have brought to you, our audience, an eclectic and entertaining mix of Circus acts from all over the world. In 2022 we offered a streamed pre-recorded version of the circus to other more vulnerable children who weren’t able to attend large events at this time, due to the risk of Covid. We have enjoyed internationally renowned Clowns, Jugglers, Acrobats, and more as they have delivered funny, hugely engaging and sometimes death-defying acts of unbelievable skill. You can watch the trailer from a past streamed show on the Circus Quirkus website at: http://www.circusquirkus.com.au/ Circus Quirkus is an annual event hosted by our Broadwater Southport Rotary Club providing free entertainment to families/carers with disadvantaged children from the Gold Coast. Funds raised by this event are mainly used to purchase much needed equipment for the Gold Coast University Hospital’s children’s wards. Needs are identified through the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation, a Corporate Member of our Club. Our most recent donation made by the Club was a Twin Can Med Bed to the Foundation, allowing prematurely born twins to be cared for together after birth.
