As a keen touring cyclist, Wayne knows the pleasure of riding a bicycle, whether it’s a trip from the Gold Coast to Mount Isa or Mount Isa to Uluru across the top of the Simpson Desert.
Riding solo and unsupported gives you time to think. One thing which wouldn’t leave my mind was the Ted Talk I viewed prior to one of my rides about a guy in Denmark who commenced a charity which takes the elderly for a ride on trishaws.
![]() Cycling Without Age is a volunteer community group offering free Trishaw e-bike rides and rides to elderly, less-abled, socially isolated, or people who just want some company using bikes which carry wheelchairs.
Our aim is to provide reconnection to the community and environment. Guided by principles of generosity, slowness, relationships, storytelling, joy and dignity, our rides provide a memorable experience for all.

On behalf of the Host Organization Committee, we cannot wait to welcome Rotarians and guests to Houston and the great State of Texas for the 2022 Rotary International Convention. The saying goes that everything is “Bigger”, “Better” and “Friendlier” in Texas, and the goal of the Houston Host Organization Committee is to have each of you feel that every moment as our guest while in Houston! From the humble beginnings of this great city, Houston has been led by “People of Action” who have taken this City to great heights including, to the moon and back.

Radio Lollipop Gold Coast T 0408 883 527 E chairpersongc@radiolollipop.org Radio Lollipop believes in the healing power of play – providing smiles and laughter to children at a time when they need it most.
Though some patients are short-stay, many have a recurring need for care and return repeatedly to hospital. Some who are terminally ill spend much of their short lives in hospital. Radio Lollipop gives young patients a voice and a choice during their stay. While they can´t say “no” to taking their medicine or receiving treatment, they can request their favourite songs, win prizes and hear their own voices on the radio. Those activities give youngsters a haven of normality in the hospital day which in other respects is strange, different and often scary. |
