Nicola’s entire lifestyle changed quite dramatically, after celebrating her 30th Birthday in 2002, when she was diagnosed with a pituitary gland tumour. Soon after this, her life seemed to become one full of tests, hospitals, specialists, surgery, radiotherapy and even chemotherapy.
She had a career as a secondary school teacher, teaching English, Drama and History. Unfortunately, this soon ceased, as her focus was on her tumour and trying to recover from this whole experience. The idea of life being too short became a stark reality after all she experienced.
