 Meet Donald Macdonald whose distinguished theatre and television career in Australia and the UK spans more than forty years.

 

Donald began his career as the Hero at Sydney’s famous Music Hall. He appeared at the popular Philip Theatre in shows such as Is Australia really Necessary with Miriam Karlin and the hugely successful A Cup of Tea, a Bex and a Good Lie Down.  He was a popular Playschool presenter, and starred in his own television show, the ABC’s I Married a Batchelor before working in the UK.

 

Donald is also an award- winning screenwriter and novelist (Travels with a Wise Man. Pan).  His now classic play Caravan, one of Australia’s most successful and endearing stage comedies, is still making audiences laugh. Other plays include Hot Taps, Giuseppe, Saints Alive, Seasons, Boulevard Play and Truth.
